Beautiful certificate from the Death Valley Exploration Company issued in 1931. This historic document has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle. This item has the signatures of D. H. Weber, president and C. D. Baker, secretary.
The company owned the Stonehouse group of claims located near Yermo at the south end of Death Valley. Ore was reported to be free milling assaying at $65 per ton. The ore was shipped to Silver City by burro. There were two tunnels, one 367 and the other 540 feet deep. The property was considered a prospect with severe handicaps including climate and remoteness. (Mines Handbook, 1931, p.538).
