Beautiful certificate from the Paleis voor Volksvlijt issued in 1869. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an allegorical figure. This item has the printed signature of a company officer, and is over 144 years old.
The Palace of Industry was a large glass building on the Frederiksplein in Amsterdam , at the place where now the property of the Dutch Central Bank stands. It was built between 1855 and 1864 . The palace was designed by architect Cornelis Outshoorn , inspired by the Crystal Palace in London , which was built for the Great Exhibition of 1851 . In 1929 , the Palace of Industry destroyed by fire.
