Beautiful certificate from the Prin-Seti Gold Mining Company issued in 1901. This historic document was printed by C.H. Emerson and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of the Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, Prince Seti and of a scarab beetle; the sacred bug that was a symbol of rebirth and everlasting life. This item has been hand signed by the Company’s President, and Secretary, and is over 110 years old. EF Condition.

Prin-Seti Gold Mining Company's properties included the Prin-Seti and Bessie G. on Gold Hill; Ida May, Roc's Nest, and part of Silver Lake on Galena Hill; Marietta on Raven Hill; and the Ohio Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 on Straub Mountain.

Prince Seti was the son of Ramses I. The name Seti means "of Set", which indicates that he was consecrated to the god Set (commonly "Seth"). As with most Pharaohs, Seti had several names. Upon his ascension, he took the prenomen mn-m3‘t-r‘, which translates as Menmaatre in Egyptian, meaning "Eternal is the Justice of Re." His better known nomen, or birth name is technically transliterated as sty mry-n-pt, or Sety Merenptah, meaning "Man of Set, beloved of Ptah". A capable ruler, excellent field commander and energetic builder, Seti I embarked on a series of military campaigns in an effort to secure the boundaries of Egypt. Echoing the achievements of kings of the XVIII dynasty before Akhenaten, he inaugurated a major program to build and refurbish religious monuments at Thebes and Abydos. He took the additional title of "Repeater of births" to indicate that he regarded himself as the inaugurator of a new era. Seti I was seceded by his son, the famous Ramses II the Great.
