BOSTON, Jan. 7.--The American Electric and Illuminating Company of Boston has purchased the entire business, machinery, tools, franchises, shops, and plant of the Thomson and Houston Electric Light Company of Canada, with head-quarters at Montreal, and assumed control of the same to-day.

Edward H. Goff, President of the American Electric Manufacturing Company, at No. 10 West Twenty-third-street, who has been fighting since December the efforts of the Canadian authorities to get him back within the Dominion, to stand trial for forgery, is under arrest.
