Beautifully engraved certificate from the Dona Louisa Copper and Gold Mining Company issued
in 1903. This historic document was printed by the International Bank Note Company and has an
ornate border around it with vignettes within circles at upper corners of miners working underground. This item is hand signed by the Company's President and Acting Treasurer and is
over 101 years old.
The company claimed to own property that assayed at 67% copper, 120 ounces silver and $32 gold per ton. Company was viewed with suspicion due to the fact that dividends were paid, most likely from stock sales, not earnings. Considered a swindle. (Copper Handbook, 1908, p.635)
