Beautifully engraved unissued certificate from the Central Fire Proof Building Company printed in 1912. This historic document was printed by the Jefferies Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of the Citizens National Bank Building with early motor cars in front. Over 100 years old.

The company owned the Citizens National Bank Building which was located on the corner of 5th and Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles. Officers and Directors of the company included J. Dabney Day, P.D. Rowan, Arthur C. Hurt, M.S. Hellman, Harold D. Spear, H.D. Iver, A. L. Schwarz, J.F. Sartori, and E.T. Pettigrew. Security Building (510 S. Spring St.) Built in 1906, the 11-story steel-frame Security Building was designed in an Italianate style by Parkinson and Bergstrom. When it was built, it was the tallest building in Los Angeles, surpassing the Continental Building. It remained the city's tallest building until 1911. The Security Building has been converted to lofts operated under the name "The Lofts at the Security Building." The Security Building was designated a Historic Cultural Landmark (HCM #741) in 2003. The Lofts at the Security Building is an urban loft community in a historic 1920 bank building in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles's historic banking district. The banking district neighbors the fashion, toy and financial districts where a multitude of entertainment, shopping and employment opportunities exist.
