Beautifully engraved certificate from the Girard Avenue Title & Trust Company issued in 1910-1930. This historic document has an ornate border around it. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( Michael J. Ryan ) and Treasurer ( John T. Greene )and is over 72 years old. In 1931, the Girard Avenue Title and Trust Company disclosed a shortage of over $1,000,000 in cash. Later that year, a Grand Jury indicted four officials for $441,000 in fraud and the Girard Avenue Title & Trust Co. was shut down.
