Beautifully engraved unissued certificate from the Independence Exhibition Company. This historic document was printed by the Ryan Banknote Company of New York and has an ornate border around it with the company's name on top center. Independence was the hometown of Harry Sinclair, who built the nation's largest independent oil company, Sinclair Oil & Refining Co. In 1921, Kansas joined the the Southwestern League with their team called the Producers.
