Beautifully engraved SCARCE certificate from the LaFrance-Republic Corporation issued in 1929. This historic document was printed by American Bank Note Company and has an ornate border around it with the company's name on top center. This item is hand signed by the Company's President, C. B. Rose and Secretary and is over 76 years old. The company was incorporated on May 16, 1929 to take over the assets and liablilites of Republic Motor Truck CO. Inc, together with the stock of its subsidiaries Linn Manufacturing Co. of Morris, New York, Detroit Patents Holding Co. and Republic Truck Sales Corp. and the commercial truck division of the American La France & Foamite Corporation. LaFrance-Republic Corporation survived until 1932 when it was taken over by the Sterling Motor Truck Co. of West Allis, Wisconsin.
