Howard S. Levin and James E. Townsend developed and pioneered a new business program consisting of the acquisition of computers from IBM and the short-term leasing of them in competition with IBM's leasing activities. They formed Levin-Townsend Computer Corporation, a New Jersey corporation, to implement the program.
