Beautifully engraved certificate of the Rensselaer County War Coupon Bond issued in 1879. This historic document was printed by the H. B. Nims and Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle on s Union Shield next to a Civil War cannon and cannon balls. This item is hand signed by the Chairman of the Board ( George H. Goopers )and Chairman of the Finance Committee ( F. P. Allen ) and is over 124 years old. The certificate has punch and cut cancellations and overall is in EF condition.
