Beautifully engraved specimen certificate from the Rice-Stix Dry Goods Company. This historic document was printed by the Security Banknote Company around 1920 and has an  ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle.  This certificate is approximately 80 years old.            
 
Certificate Vignette   Rice-Stix, Inc., a dry-goods wholesaler that was the largest business in the St. Louis area around the turn of the century. It was headquartered in the Merchandise Mart Building in downtown St. Louis. The building was built in 1880 and had 340,000-square-feet of space. It was designed by architect Isaac Taylor in the Romanesque Revival style.
