Certificate Vignette Value Health, Inc. was the first company to combine medical sciences and information technology to reengineer the utilization review and approval process, saving payors millions while improving the quality of care. VHS went on to introduce sophisticated profiling systems and data warehouses that brought health services data into management's use. VHS also was among the first consulting groups to pioneer programs in disease and population management as well as the use of quality of life indicators in pharmacoeconomic research. VHS included among its clients over 80% of large managed care companies and payors and had strategic relationships with Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Novartis. Value Health, Inc. was sold to Columbia/HCA in 1997.
