Beautiful unissued certificate from the Hawaiian Bell Telephone Company printed in 1880. This historic document was printed by Hawaiian Gazette Printing and has an
ornate border around it with vignettes a of a woman swimming and a wildlife scene next to a palm tree. This item is over 127 years old. Small cut in upper left corner.
Old Hawaiian certificates are very hard to find. All Hawaiian Telephone Companies eventually merged into Mutual Telephone Company. Mutual later became GTE and most recently Verizon. Hawaiian Bell Telephone (1880) drew heated competition from Mutual Telephone(1883) until they merged in 1895 - the first of many to follow.
