Beautifully engraved certificate from the San Francisco Remedial Loan Association, Ltd. issued in 1949 - 1953. This historic document was printed by various companies and has an ornate border around it with a gold embossed corporate seal. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( M.H. Robbins ) and Secretary ( Albert C. Auger ). The company was organized in 1912 for the purpose of loaning money on pledges of personal property at a low rate of interest having as its primary objective to be the ultimate eradication of the "loan shark" evil. Needless to say, they never were in the credit card business.
