Beautifully engraved certificate from the American Cotton Chopper Co. issued in 1913. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of two allegorical women infront of a factory. This item has been folded and shows some signs of wear. The certificate is hand signed by the Company's President and Treasurer and is over 93 years old. This is the first time we have seen this certificate.
Certificate Vignette A cotton chopper is a machine for chopping out the young cotton plants a hoes width when they first come up. Cotton chopper is also a derogatory term describing someone who cuts cotton.
