Beautifully engraved certificate from the American Voting Machine Company issued in 1913. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an allegorical woman holding a light bulb in her hand. This item is hand signed by the company's president and treasurer and is over 91 years old. Because paper ballots offer ample opportunities, sometimes seized, for illicit creativity, Jacob Myers invented the mechanical lever machine, which was first used in New York, in 1892. The American Voting Machine Company was born.
