Beautifully engraved SCARCE certificate from the Golden Books Family Entertainment. This historic document was printed by the Security-Columbian Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a train with animals on it. This item has the printed signatures of the Company's Chairman and Secretary. There were not many of these certificates issued as can be seen by the low certificate number.
Certificate Vignette In August 2001, Random House, Inc., acquired all the book publishing properties of Golden Books Family Entertainment, which produces storybooks, coloring and activity books, puzzle books, educational workbooks, reference books, novelty books, and chapter books. The Golden Books publishing program features many of today's hottest licenses including Blue's Clues, Rugrats, SpongeBob Square Pants, The Wild Thornberrys, Bob the Builder, Precious Moments, and Barbie, as well as such classic children's literature as the Little Golden Books series, Pat the Bunny, The Poky Little Puppy and books by Richard Scarry and Mercer Mayer. Random House Children's Books is currently integrating the Golden Books publishing program into its own.
