Beautifully engraved RARE certificate from the Kentucky Bourbon Company issued on February 23, 1865 during the Civil War. this is unusual for Southern State named product to be sold in the North during the war. This historic document was printed by the J.M. Wittlemore & Co. of Boston and has an
ornate border around it with an IRS Revenue Stamp below the company's name. The stamp is cancelled with circular handstamp with the company's name and date of February 23, 1865. This item has the hand signatures of the Company’s President ( C. H. Sanborn ) and Secretary ( Benjamin F. Bayley ). This is the first time we have seen a certificate from this company.
