Beautifully engraved certificate from the Mac Namara Mining & Milling Company issued in 1920. Printed by Olsen Litho Co. S.F. This historic document has an ornate border around it. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( Jos. G Joseph ) and Secretary ( Emmett Eliot ) and is over 83 years old. Property consisted of two patented claims on 12 acres. The company completed a mill on its property in 1912 and the following year treated 28,000 tons of ore at a loss. The company was reorganized under the name MacNamara Mining and Milling Co. shortly afterwards. In 1914 the property operated 8 months, processing 15, 776 tons of ore. The mine shut down in 1915 owing to low silver prices, shortage of money and lack of development. Was producing about 1,500 tons per month when active. Intermittent production 1915 to 1920, produced 1920 -1922, idle in 1923, producing in 1924, but no activity through 1930. (Holabird)
