Beautifully engraved certificate from the New York and New Jersey Bridge Company issued in 1892. This historic document was printed by the New York Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette an aerial view of Manhattan showing the never to be built bridge crossing the Hudson at 99th Street from New York to new Jersey. This item is hand signed by the Company's President and Treasurer and is over 110 years old.
Certificate Vignette The company was hoping the legislature would approve a bill authorizing around $40,000 to build the bridge. The bill was defeated due to the large cost and the associated risks and uncertainty. The condition is VF.
