Annual Report By Missouri. Division of Mine Inspection 1906 OLD COLONY ZINC AND SMELTING COMPANY. This company is a corporation, with Col. Albert Clark of Boston, Mass., president. The company owns in fee 27 acres of land some 5 miles northeast of Joplin, known as the Porto Rico tract. The land is operated by the Old Colony Zinc and Smelting Company, with the exception of 6 acres leased to Gibson & Company. There is a concentrating mill on the land, with complete equipment, and the product for the year was 701/2 tons of zinc ore, and 9614 tons of lead ore, the total value of which was $10,959.91.
