Beautiful certificate from the Redman Extension Mining Company issued in 1908. This historic document was printed by Goes Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with vignettes of an allegorical woman and men working in mines. This item has the signatures of the Company's President, John E. Taylor and Secretary, W. T. Wintermute and is over 100 years old.
The company's secretary W. T. Wintermute was a notorious stock promoter. Wintemute was arrested for fraudulent use of the mails, and suit was brought against the company by John Derry, the superintendent, who is said to be a relative of Mr. Wintemute. (Copper Handbook, 1910, p.1466-67).
