Beautifully engraved certificate from the South Western Rail Road Company issued in 1860's. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of train covered by a Civil War era revenue stamp. This item is hand signed by the Company's President (William S. Holt) and Treasurer and is over 130 years old. The total lengeth of the line at the time these certificates were issued was approximately 260 miles. The line of the road connected Macon, Georgia to West Savannah to Eufaula, Alabama.
