Beautifully printed certificate from the Ward Electrical Car Company, Ltd. issued in 1891. This historic document was printed by W.Wilfred Head and Mark, Printers, "DP. Johnson Press," Fleet Lane, Old Bailey, E.C. It has an ornate border on the left side and an intricate design forming the beginning of the statement "This is to Certify." This item has the handwritten signatures of two of the Company's Directors (including Radcliff Ward ), and Secretary; and is over 120 years old. Ward 1888-1896 Ward Electrical Car Company, London. Founded by Radcliff Ward who designed a battery bus, he then hired Walter C Bersey as his chief engineer. The company had an exhibit at the Worlds Columbian Exposition (1893). In 1896 big capitol came in to build a lead bus/cab syndicate for London and the name was changed to the London Electric Omnibus Company.
