The following allotment certificate was issued by the Department of the Interior (Commission of the Five Civilized Tribes) to Mary Catherine Johnson. In the upper left hand corner, of the allotment certificate, is listed the tribe (Chickasaw by Intermarriage) and roll number (303) for the enrollee. In the middle portion of the certificate is listed the name of the enrollee (Mary Catherine Johnson), a legal description of the land (NE4of SW4of Section 33, Township 6N, Range 1W) and the amount of land alloted (70 Acres). The total appraised value of the land ($420.00) is near the bottom of the certificate. The allotment certificate was signed by Chairman. The allotment certificate list the certifcate number (11685) and the date the certificate was issued (July 29, 1904) in the upper right hand corner. Beautiful certificate from the Department of Interior's Allotment Certificate for the Commission to the Five Civilized Tribes allotting land to the Chickasaw Nation. It has been hand signed by the Chairman of the Commission to the Five Civilized Tribes and is over 107 years old. Cut in lower right corner.
