Beautifully printed certificate from the American Hare Packing & Cold Storage Company issued in 1903. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of of a woman with farm animals behind her and also has an underprint of a Rabbir (Hare). This item is hand signed by the Company's President and Secretary and is over 102 years old. The certificate shows some signs of wear.
Certificate Vignette According to a old news report: On April 14, 1903, it was reported that a new enterprise was waking to life in Echo, the booming little town 31 miles below Pendleton. "Here what promises to develop into one of the biggest establishments of the state is being started. "The derided idea of a jack rabbit cannery has actually materialized and the enterprise is now fairly under way. The American Hare Packing & Cold Storage Company has been organized to develop the industry."
