Beautifully engraved certificate from the Belding Heminway Company, Inc. issued
in 1963-1978. This historic document was printed by the Security-Columbian Banknote Company and has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of two allegorical women sitting on both side of a cat playing with a spool of thread. This item has the printed signatures of the company’s president and secretary and is
over 22 years old.

The company changed its name to Carlyle Industries. Carlyle Industries distributes buttons and embellishments and gift and craft products to retailers and wholesalers throughout the US. The company buys its buttons from more than 75 manufacturers worldwide and packages them for sale under the La Mode, Le Chic, La Petite, Boutique, and other names, as well as a private-label line for a national retailer. Carlyle also distributes appliques, craft kits, and fashion accessories. Customers include fabric chains and mass merchandisers; Wal-Mart, Jo-Ann Stores, and Hancock Fabrics account for more than 75% of sales. Carlyle has sold its home-furnishings and thread divisions. CEO Robert Levinson controls about 35% of the company.
