Beautiful stock certificate from the Imperial Fertilizer Company issued in 1890. This historic document was printed by the Waslker, Evans, & Cogswell Co. and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a palmetto tree behind a barrel, sack of grain, packages, and a large washer. This item has been hand signed by the Company’s President, Andrew Simonds and Treasurer, and is over 121 years old.
Andrew Simonds was a wealthy man who founded the First National Bank of South Carolina and the Imperial Fertilizer Company. He bought the Battery Carriage House Inn which is supposedly haunted.
