Certificate Vignette The Ross Gear and Tool Company, founded by David E. Ross, started in 1906. Ross Gear produced steering gears for America's military efforts in World War I. Ross Gear supplied gears for 68 models of military vehicles during World War II. Ross Gear produced its first garden tractor steering assembly in 1962. In 1964, Ross Gear merged with Thompson Ramo Wooldridge (TRW).
