Beautiful certificate from the Standard Textile Products Company issued in 1932. This historic has an ornate border around it with the company's name on top. This item has the signatures of the Company's President, J. T. Broadbent and Secretary, and is over 78 years old. Moodys manual of railroads and corporation securities: STANDARD TEXTILE PRODUCTS CO. - Inc. June 17, 1914, in Ohio, as the Standard Oil Cloth Co.; present name adopted in Nov, 1918. Successor to the Standard Oil Cloth Co. of New Jersey, organized May 2, 1907, which in turn succeeded the Standard Table Oil Cloth Co. of N. J., formed in 1901, to consolidate the leading manufacturers of light weight oil cloth in the United States. Plants located at Akron and Youngstown, O.; Rock Island, 111.; Athenia, N. J.; Buchanan, N. Y., and Columbus, Ga. Company is largest producer of lightweight oil cloth and leather cloth in the United States, and is sole producer of Sanitas modern wall covering. In April, 1918, the Meritas Mills, the capital stock of which was formerly owned by the'Standard Oil Cloth Co., now Standard Textile Products Co., was merged into the Company and its property taken over for direct operation. The Standard Textile Products Co. owns the entire capital stock of the Mobile Cotton Mills and unconditionally guarantees that Company's bonds, both principal and interest. The company owns and operates manufacturing plants, located at Montrose, N. Y., Athenla, N. J.. Rock Island, 111., Youngstown, Ohio, and Akron. Ohio, also three cotton mills (Méritas Mills) at Columbus. Ga and owns the entire capital stock of the Mobile Cotton Mills, an Alabama corporation having plants in Mobile, Ala., McComb, Miss., and Selma, N. C, and operates the same. Its products consist of the well known Méritas OU Cloth. Méritas Leather Cloths and Snnltas Wnll Coverings. The entire product of the Méritas and Mobile Cotton Mills plants Is used by the Standard Textile Products Company. The Standard Textile Products Company is a large producer of light-weight oil cloth and Is the exclusive manufacturer of Sanltas wall coverings. History from (old stock certificate research service)
