Beautiful certificate from the Western Publishing Group, Inc. issued in 1998. This historic document was printed by the United States Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of the children's book characters. This item has the printed signatures of the Company's Chairman, and Treasurer, and is over 14 years old. The front of the certificate has printed in red that the company name was changed to Golden Books Family Entertainment.
Certificate Vignette In August 2001, Random House, Inc., acquired all the book publishing properties of Golden Books Family Entertainment, which produces storybooks, coloring and activity books, puzzle books, educational workbooks, reference books, novelty books, and chapter books. The Golden Books publishing program features many of today's hottest licenses including Blue's Clues, Rugrats, SpongeBob Square Pants, The Wild Thornberrys, Bob the Builder, Precious Moments, and Barbie, as well as such classic children's literature as the Little Golden Books series, Pat the Bunny, The Poky Little Puppy and books by Richard Scarry and Mercer Mayer. Random House Children's Books is currently integrating the Golden Books publishing program into its own.
