ornate border around it with a vignette of two allegorical men sitting beside the company logo. This item has the printed signatures of the Company's President ( Charles Davis ) and Secretary ( Paul B. Obert ) and is
over 29 years old.
Certificate Vignette
In 1907, Addressograph was marketing its Dupligraph machine "the highest development of the process of producing imitation typewritten letters." The machine simultaneously printed the text of a letter (prepared using sliding type), a name and address (using an Addressograph plate), a choice of salutation (Dear Sir or Gentlemen), and a signature (in a different color ink), all at the rate of 800 to 1,200 per hour. In 1927, American Multigraph introduced the Addressing Multigraph, which used metal plates to print addresses and form letters simultaneously, and in 1931 Addressograph and American Multigraph merged to form Addressograph Multigraph.
