Beautifully engraved certificate from the Cordova Copper Company issued in 1909. This historic document has an
ornate border around it. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( H. B. Hovland ) and Secretary ( Harvey P. Smith ) and is over 95 years old.
The company controlled over 1100 acres that were located north of the Old Dominion and west of the Arizona Commercial and also the Eureka group in the Miami district. The property near Globe had a 1225 foot shaft and had no commercially viable ore. The Eureka mine had a 125 foot shaft that had produced nearly 500,000 pounds of copper, but never saw and results under the Cordova Copper Company. The company was idle by 1910 (Copper Handbook, 1910, p.701).
