The building sits in one of the city's most high-profile spots, at the corner of Michigan and LaSalle Streets downtown. It's right beside the Morris Performing Arts Center and has been designated historic because of its façade. The hotel LaSalle closed in 1973, and the building has been vacant since the late 1990s.
