Bingham, Utah. The company was controlled by a majority of stock held by the U.S. Smelting and Refining and Mining Company. The Company had a lot of potential but was undercapitalized. It was unable to raise the money and was idle for a number of years. It finally filed for bankruptcy. The US Smelting Company purchased the majority of the stock. A successful mining and exploration program carried out over twenty years resulted in what was at one time the world's largest open pit copper mine.
