Beautiful certificate from the Ohio River Land and Marble Company issued in 1854. This historic document was printed by the Lithograph of W.H. Arthur & Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a locomotive. This item has the original signatures of the Company's President, Thomas P. Kettel and Secretary, and is over 159 years old. Signs of wear.
Certificate Ohio River Land and Marble Company's property consisted of 46,000 acres heavily timbered lands on the Ohio River. The Big Sandy Railroad ran through it twenty miles from Vanceburg to opposite Portsmouth, Ohio.
