Beautifully engraved certificate from the United States Credit System Co. issued in 1891. This historic document was has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle with a gold corporate seal. This item has the signatures of the Company’s President, William Fieldler.
The United States Credit System Company (USCSC) was a company based in Newark, New Jersey that issued certificates of guarantee to wholesale merchants to protect them from excess loss as a form of insurance.
In 1894, the USCSC was in the hands of a receiver, ex-State Treasurer Gray. The company later became insolvent and was represented by Gray in a case.
