Beautifully engraved certificate from the Utah & Salt Lake Canal Company issued in 1895. The company was incorporated in Utah in 1880. This historic document has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a man with horses pulling a plow and a woman next to hay stacks This item is hand signed by the Company's President (Peter Reid) and Secretary ( Gideon A. Gibbs ) and is over 108 years old. The certificate was issued to Peter Rasmussen and endorsed by him on the verso. The company was operating in the West Jordan Irrigation District, Salt Lake County.
