Historic stock certificate from the American Express Company issued in 1861. This certificate was printed by John H. Duyckinck, Stationer and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of a dog with the words Safety and Dispatch below. This item is hand signed by the Company's President ( Henry Wells ) and Secretary ( William Fargo ) and Treasurer ( Alex Holland ) and is over 147 years old.  Light toning.  Pen cancelled.
