Beautiful certificate from the National Cape Nome Gold Mining and Transportation Company of Alaska issued in 1900 This historic document was printed by the Metropolitan Banknote Company and has an ornate border around it with a vignette of an old mine. This item has the signatures of the Company’s officers and Secretary and is over 126 years old.

The company was a short-lived corporate enterprise established around 1900–1901 during the peak of the Nome Gold Rush on the Seward Peninsula. Historic corporate records and vintage stock certificates document its existence during the initial wave of incorporated entities attempting to consolidate placer mining and logistics in northwestern Alaska.
